With a passion for education and service, Evelyn uses her decades of teaching experience to help the Foundation inspire growth, knowledge, and opportunity.

About Me

Evelyn Holt-Fuller is a dedicated educator, writer, and community advocate. A native of Mebane, NC, she made Durham her home in 1992 and went on to earn multiple degrees from North Carolina Central University, followed by teacher certification from Duke University. Over the years, she has taught English across a wide range of levels, enriching the lives of countless students with her passion for learning and mentorship.

Evelyn is also a gifted author. She recently released her second book, Truly Grounded: Insights For The Seasons Of Life, a reflective work offering wisdom and encouragement. She plans to revamp her earlier publication, To My Brown Babies: A Great-Grandmother’s Letter to African-American Girls and Their Friends, while also preparing two additional manuscripts currently in draft form. Through her writing and her lifelong commitment to service, Evelyn continues to uplift, inspire, and empower others.
